White Papers
Challenge
With the shift from fee-for-service to value-based care, gastroenterology (GI) practices need reduce the number of no-shows for colonoscopy appointments. A practice management firm using tech-enabled patient engagement services saw an opportunity to show provider practices how their solution can keep patients engaged leading up to their procedures.
Solution
After researching the specifics of care coordination for GI practices, I created a series of white papers diving into how technology offers to holistic patient engagement and improves patient procedure preparation. The white papers were then shared with practices to demonstrate the benefit of a partnership with the practice management firm.
This white paper acknowledged the challenges of operating as an independent practice in today’s industry environment. The paper offered a two-step approach for building a sustainable practice: optimizing revenue cycle and cultivating a value-oriented culture.
White Paper
It’s been shown that patients need many touch points with their providers — especially leading up to procedures where, if procedure preparation is not adequate, the provider may not be able to perform the procedure. This white paper outlined the many ways to holistically engage a patient: phone calls, emails, SMS messages, written literature, and patient portals. It then demonstrated how a practice management partner can work to take this manual burden off providers and staff.
